MEETING SCHEDULE
Kern County District 6 Meeting Schedule
Alateen Meetings are for teens, usually age 9- 18, whose life has been affected by someone else’s drinking (usually their parents, guardians, siblings or friends) and are always Families & Friends Only. They are Families, Friends, & Observers Welcome only to teens – no adults, except Alateen sponsors allowed. Alateen sponsors are Al- Anon Members Involved in Alateen Service (AMIAS). All AMIAS’ have completed SCWSA certification process. For your teen’s protection, Alateen meetings abide by the SCWSA Requirement for Alateen Member Safety.
Families & Friends Only Meetings
Are for all Al- Anon members & potential members; anyone whose personal life is or has been affected by close contact with a problem drinker. Families & Friends Only meetings give members the freedom to share and listen to the experience, strength, and hope of one another on a confidential and anonymous basis.
Families, Friends, & Observers Welcome Meetings
An Al- Anon meeting may choose to be “Families, Friends, & Observers Welcome” by the consent of its participants. An “Families, Friends, & Observers Welcome” Al- Anon Family Group (AFG) meeting allows attendance by all members and potential members as well as people who are not families and friends of alcoholics but who are interested in learning about Al- Anon Family Groups (AFG). People who may come to Families, Friends, & Observers Welcome Al- Anon meetings occasionally include students and professionals who work with alcoholics and their families.
